Hi, this is Josh Marshall, and this is the Josh Marshall podcast.

Today we are going to talk to a member of the House

Representatives, Representative Rubin Giego of the 7th District of Arizona,

a still relatively new member of Congress.

I think he was just elected to his third term.

Someone who is on the progressive side of the Democratic Caucus

has been someone who definitely has been one of those people

who has been pushing for the last couple

cycles for new leadership in the house but he's not one of the signatories of that of that

sixteen uh... representative letter that everybody's talking about today where the 16 members,

either incumbents or new members of the Democratic Caucus who are saying that no way, know how they're going to vote for

Nancy Pelosi, not in the caucus, not on the Speaker vote, which is of the entire

House on the House floor, and that's been the big news out of DC the last couple days.

So we're going to talk to Rubin about that and we're also going to talk about Arizona

because Arizona was a big big story coming out of

this election obviously Kirsten cinema was member of the House representatives

elected to the Senate, beat another House incumbent

Martha McSalle. That was a big big result. It helped stem Democratic losses in

other Senate contests around the country.

The state Democrats also got the Secretary of State office.

You know, we don't normally think a lot about like, you know,

Lieutenant Governor or Secretary of State, like State attorney general.
