tell us who you are and what you do.

I am a mom and stylist living in the Midwest, and I write about my life over at

Design for Mankind.com. And I'm a writer and mom living in Central Texas, and you can find me

online at the art of simple.net. Now, this is a home episode. So in this one,

Aaron and I are going to talk about embracing the homes we have, loving where we already live,

and understanding how our particular personality and quirks play into our home style.

And we're going to be talking about a few practical ways that I think we both make the most of our surroundings.

Okay, so, Erin, I know that you're a homebody.

You said that you were in the last episode, but I'm kind of curious.

What does that mean?

Like, what does your home look like to you?

Well, I'm an introvert.

Surprise, surprise.

So home to me is just the place, you know, you have on your comfy pants, no bra, no makeup. You're just you. And our home is very quiet, peaceful, calm. I mean, we do have children. So yeah, it gets boisterous at times. But overall, my husband and I both kind of gravitate

toward peace. And it's so, it's so funny. I used to completely beat myself up over it because I wanted to

be, you know, an adventurous spirit. I wanted to open my doors wide open and say, come one, come all,

and welcome the noise and the loud. But it's just not our personality. And it's

funny, we have some friends who have this plaque in their living room. And it was gifted to them at

their wedding. And it's one of those, do you know the ones that are like, we do love and we do
