The Hey everyone. Welcome to the film re-roll. This is Paolo. Quick explainer before we start the actual episode. We re-rolled the film Friday the 13th, the final chapter, but I didn't tell the players we were doing a horror movie,

because of course the disposable teenagers in a slasher flick don't know they're in a slasher.

Instead, I made up a movie which I called Summer Spell and told them it was an obscure indie coming-of-age summer sex comedy.

I instructed them not to watch it or even look it up because

I wanted them to be able to have secrets from each other. I then extrapolated elaborate

backstories and interrelationships for their characters, created a complex love mechanic,

and gave them each secret objectives that the players would get points for fulfilling and

for figuring out each other's objectives. All of this was, well, it was partly to give them a fuller world to play in, but mostly it was a smoke screen,

so they wouldn't figure out what movie they were actually in.

And by the way, I know some of you have already been writing us messages in anticipation of Halloween 3.

That will be our Halloween special next year, I promise.

I wanted to use this time when they thought we were doing Halloween 3 to help set up the smoke screen.

Plus, I want Halloween to have room to be a longer campaign, and I couldn't get that scheduled.
