remember now how Mary first cropped up. I think I'd read a runner's one article or something

similar where it was talking about the selection for the Boston Marathon, and particular, the elite

selection. And I'd realize we'd never actually discussed with anyone who chooses who actually gets the places on these races, especially that they're paid athletes.

They're paid to attend.

So who has that power?

But not just that.

When they arrive, what happens to them?

Do they just rock up on the start line and you just got to hope that they got the right tube?

Or are they chauffeur driven in from wherever they be, be in these lovely cruises?
