Summary

Welcome to the Plodcast! Listen in to hear Pastor Doug address the rise of dirty omniscience. Then he goes on to plug the book, Approved By God, by Wright & Townsend. Finishing things off with a look at the Greek words “hamartano & hamartia”. Happy Plodding! Show Notes:   Dirty Omniscience: Google & Facebook are virtually tracking everything we do This is going to go badly wrong Our browser history is stored somewhere We already know God knows, but now somebody else knows, and they are not loving and caring like the Lord People who want to rival God are in big trouble Christians should throw shade on this dirty omniscience   Approved By God: Written by Wright & Townsend Helpful but patchy Deals with the subject of churches and incorporation We shouldn’t want the church saying one thing while the state is saying something else A corporation exists at the pleasure of the state Wright & Townsend are so concerned with separation from the state that they overstate their case   Hamartano & Hamartia: This word is used a lot in the NT, we will have to break it up Starting with Matthew, Hamartano is rendered twice as sin and once as trespass (Matthew 18:21/27:4/18:15/1:21/3:6/9:2/9:5-6/12:31/26:28) The new covenant is all about dealing with our sin Those who reject the idea of sin (as all relativists do) are showing their antipathy for the good news that God has given to us.

You could reproduce, if you've got a smartphone that you've had on your person and you have used it for the last year,

it would be possible to reconstruct a detailed map of everywhere you went in the course of that year.
