Summary

Welcome to the Plodcast! Listen in to hear Pastor Doug address Eric Schneiderman and the logical downfall of the “me-too” movement. Then he goes on to plug the book, Reformation Worship by Gibson and Earngy. Finishing things off with a look at the Greek word “Amathes’. Show Notes:   Eric Schneiderman & Not Being a Hypocrite: When women make “me-too” arguments, they are assuming moral absolutes exist The whole “me-too” movement is radically relativistic when it comes to ethics You can’t adopt a “do what you feel” worldview and argue that men are wrong for molesting or raping If there is no God there’s no such thing as a hypocrite In the Christian cosmos hypocrisy is a sin In the “me-too” world there is no such thing as sin   Reformation Worship: Written by Gibson & Earngy Fabulous resource on reformational liturgics They have assembled some of the classic reformed orders of worship   Amathes: The word amathes means unleared Mentioned once in the NT (2 Peter 3:16) Those who are unlearned and yet gather to themselves the prerogatives of learning -- which would include the authority to interpret the letters of Paul -- are demonstrating that they are unlearned for a reason They are unstable souls, and their ignorance is sinful

to Plodcast episode 42. It's hard to believe that we've been doing this for that many

times but here I am and here you

0:24.7

0:44.0

He was one of the leaders of the me too movement, not only a standard issue liberal but a radical leftist going after all kinds of people.

0:57.0

A rising star in the progressive cosmos.

1:03.8

So it was quite a shock when he one day promptly

1:09.4

was blew up after he was accused by multiple women of being abusive in relationships that he had with them.

1:18.5

Now he denied being abusive that way, but he nevertheless resigned and the whole thing was

1:28.4

just another and just another gaudy episode in a sort of generally gaudy movement. So I want to talk about I want to

1:41.6

talk about this generically without saying anything particular about any of the particular

1:48.4

accusations.

1:49.4

If he's accused and he denies, then he should have the benefit of the presumption of innocence.

1:58.1

If the thing goes to court, you want a number of people to be able to serve on a jury. You want people to sort of take in the

2:11.1

information without rushing to conclusions, without rushing to judgment, and so on.

2:17.0

So I'm not saying anything about the credibility of the accusations.

2:24.0

Although they appear credible enough to indict,

2:29.0

you don't just take people into court over any cockamami accusation.

2:35.2

These seem like credible enough to pursue it further.

2:39.4

But when you pursue it further,
