Summary

This coaching call is about surrender and keeping hope. Today's caller, Eva, is ready to give up hope and accept that she may never get pregnant. But her intuition is telling her that one day she will be a mother. She asks Christine for guidance and clarity about how to shift into acceptance and let go of her desire to have a baby.

Our drive and yearning to have a child can be due to our wanting to make our own childhood different. It is a reason why the desire to have a child can be so strong. There is an attachment to wanting to have a biological child that causes a degree of stress inside our system and it can make it harder for the body to get pregnant.

The body will relax when we surrender. But how do we surrender but not give up hope? Resignation is giving up and feeling that you don't care about what happens. Surrender is more of a letting-go energy. Just handing it over to a higher power, handing it over to a source, handing it over to God, and keeping that longing and desire in your heart.

Oftentimes, our "soul babies" want a certain kind of clearing of generational patterns before they come in. And, our bodies strive to be healthy before they carry a baby.

My upcoming Signature Retreat is for women who are ready to let go of their limiting beliefs. For a nurturing self-care experience join like-minded women from October 13‒15 in San Diego, CA. To apply for a partial scholarship go to ChristineHassler.com/signatureretreat.

Consider/Ask Yourself:

  • Have you been wanting something for a long time and you keep trying but it's not happening?

  • Have you decided to surrender, but still have some hope and it leads to an expectation hangover?

  • Were you able to fully relax and surrender as a child?

  • As a coping strategy, are you a planner? Does controlling and planning everything help you to feel safe?

Eva's Question:

Eva has been trying to have a child and has not yet gotten pregnant. Her intuition tells her she will one day have a child. She is looking for guidance about how to reduce her monthly expectation hangovers.

Eva's Key Insights and Ahas:

  • She used fertility drugs to try to get pregnant.

  • She grieved the idea of being childless.

  • Her gut tells her that one day she will become pregnant and be a mother.

  • She doesn't want to have an expectation hangover every month when she menstruates.

  • Her planning and control is a trauma response.

  • She believes she needs to mother herself better.

  • Her mother was emotionally volatile.

  • Her mood as a child was based on the mood of her mother.

  • Her nervous system is dysregulated.

  • Her inner child wants to be held.

How to Get Over It and On With It:

  • Surrender and let go of the attachment to having a biological child but stay open to the idea.

  • Rediscover her true essence.

  • Know that it is not her fault for not getting pregnant.

  • Give herself the childhood, and love she deserves, but never had.

  • Begin the Inner Child Workshop.

Hi everybody, welcome back to this show. Still coming to you from San Diego and boy oh boy have we had an expectation hang over here.

0:43.0

I'll tell you a quick story. So we love San Diego. We used to live here. I'm leading my women's retreat here back in October more on that later because I have some scholarship news for you.

0:54.0

And we rented a place in North County San Diego and about three months before I got notification hey the place has termites you can't have it anymore.

1:04.0

And so we actually found an even better place in a wonderful location. It was so great for all of us.

1:10.0

It just suited our needs so much outdoor space and that's really what I love about California's indoor outdoor living and so much outdoor space for Athena.

1:18.0

One of the main reasons we left Texas this summer is because she just loves to be outside and I hate being house traps. So we were so excited. It's just beautiful. It just felt so great.

1:27.0

And before we got there, I had asked. There's a place I've mold. I'm very allergic to mold. California's notorious for mold is an older house doesn't have mold. No, we've never had leaks. Never had issues. You sure? Yes, we're sure.

1:41.0

I should have known better and had it inspected because when I walked in that first day. I was like intuitively. I think there's mold here, but I was in denial tonight's an aisle because the place was so beautiful and I just so wanted to be there.

1:58.0

And I just that was Tuesday and Thursday night I said to my husband. This place has mold. I can feel it. I know it. I don't know if it's black mold. I don't know if it's mold we can live with or mold we need to like get out of dodge with.

2:11.0

He's like, no, this place is so great. I'm like, I know we have to get it tested. So luckily we found this great inspector. His name is Brandon. He was a one man shown set up with the big company, which I love.

2:23.0

And he came that day and had to report that night. And yep, black mold. And I've got a 16 month old and we have to keep the air conditioning on. So it's just circulating through our house. Now we're in a prime spot in the height of summer where everybody wants to be. And there is no Airbnb. There's just nothing out there.

2:43.0

And we didn't want to leave this place to make what's already becoming a long story short. We ended up finding a place this guy that I had message before what's willing to move out of his place so we could have it.

2:54.0

And it's for sure not the ideal. It's for sure not what we were so excited about. But it's safe and it's healthy.

3:05.0

And I tell you this story because it's such a metaphor for sometimes things can look really, really good. And we can be super excited about them, but they actually aren't healthy for us.

3:17.0

Many times that's a relationship that is so like fireworksy and it's everything we dreamed of, but is it healthy.

3:25.0

Sometimes it's the things that maybe are more ordinary and maybe not this thing we're just so excited about that actually are healthy.

3:35.0

And I just want you to think about is anything in your life that looks really good and seems really good and looks good from the outside.
