Summary

Democrats narrowly control the House, Senate, and Presidency - the real question I have now is this - what will they do with it? Because it already looks like Republicans are going to play hardball as usual. Will Democrats fold and get nothing done, or will they muster up the moral courage to fight for real meaningful change? Most of my close friends think that Democrats will squander this moment. Call me foolish, but I still have some hope.

Congress is back in session. The House and Senate are doing... I have to put air quotes

on this, the people's business. That's what they're supposed to be doing at least.

But they are back in session. Democrats have a rather small majority in the House. A very,

0:24.1

very slim majority in the Senate. Of course, they control the presidency now.

in 2020. Not millions, not tens of millions, not hundreds of billions. Billions with a B,

1:24.5

a capital B. Billions of dollars were spent to determine who controls the United States

1:32.1

House and Senate. Why? Why do you think that much money was spent? Billions, which blows

1:37.2

my mind. Imagine if we had just spent that billion or those billions on things that actually

1:45.4

provide real substance to our community, but that's not how it goes. We spent billions

1:52.4

and billions of dollars. And Democrats have a very narrow control of the House and Senate.

2:01.0

And now that billions of dollars have been spent, now that hundreds of millions of man-hours

2:08.3

and minutes have been spent campaigning for these candidates, organizing and fighting

2:14.0

and getting people to the polls all over the country, the real question is, are Democrats

2:22.1

going to actually lead? Now, I have to say something that I feel like I am now saying

2:28.0

on every podcast. Last year in May, June, July, August, September, October, even into November,

2:38.1

when we said when Democrats get power, are they going to lead? The pushback was always

where you have to wait until they get power. Well, Joe Biden has been sworn in. The Senate
