0:24.6	Why don't you turn with me this morning in your Bible to the book of Luke chapter 7?
0:30.1	We're going to read a lot of scripture this morning.
0:32.3	You know, it's actually 20 verses.
0:34.3	Don't freak out.
0:34.9	I know that could be more than most have read this week.
0:36.8	But the Bible says in verse 36, when one of the Pharisees invited Jesus to have dinner with him,
0:42.4	he went to the Pharisees house and reclined at the table a woman in that town who lived a sinful
0:48.5	life. I love all of the detail. One only has to kind of imagine. Wonder what that means a sinful
0:53.4	life. Scholars would say
0:55.5	mostly that she probably was a prostitute, so they think. A sinful life, and it goes on,
1:01.1	it says, learn that Jesus was eating at the Pharisees house. So she came there with an alabaster
1:08.0	jar of perfume. We normally just skim over this stuff. Like, does it not seem
1:11.5	a little bit odd to you? That we're at a religious man's house, a Pharisee's house, a sinful
1:17.0	woman learns that Jesus is at this house, and so she just came there. And apparently, that
1:22.3	might not have been as unusual as it seems, because no one seemed to stop her. I wonder whether
1:26.2	she might have been there before, but anyway, we'll keep going. You just got to really stick with the text every now and again
