0:49.8	which was such an honor because Catherine is just such a brilliant book and I'm thrilled to have
0:54.6	you on the show. Well, I'm delighted to be here. You know, I'm a huge fan of yours, so I'm just
1:01.0	so happy. That's so cool. So I would love to see your book is the unexpected joy of being sober
1:07.8	and I think that's what's just so cool is the title gives me like almost goosebumps because it's
1:14.0	like how that is so true. It is so unexpected and such a joy and I think it's something that at
1:21.1	least for me, I wish I would have sort of known decades ago almost like, oh, why couldn't I have
1:27.0	got this message sooner? But people like you writing this book is getting it out to the to the
1:31.9	masses and obviously that's what this podcast is all about. But I'd love to start if it's okay with
1:37.4	you just kind of with your story. And so, you know, kind of who were you when you were just kind of
1:43.5	caught up in it and before you even started questioning your drinking, but you know, we're obviously
1:47.7	drinking just like everybody does and kind of talk to us a bit about who you were. Okay, great.
1:54.5	I'll so I'll go back to my 20s because that was when it all kind of started.
2:00.7	And it's suddenly like a million degrees and I'm just going to do it myself.
2:06.3	I'm a little bit nervous. So basically in my 20s I was a writer and an editor and I worked for
2:14.5	Cosmopolitan and Glamour magazine and basically that it was like the coolest job ever,
2:21.3	but it meant that I could go to free drinks parties every night if I wanted to and I did want to.
