Hey there, I'm Christine, and I'm so excited to welcome you to the Equip and Empower podcast.

Now, my prayer is that our time together each week encourages you,

awakens you to the purposes of God in your life,

and activates you to follow Jesus wholeheartedly as you live on mission

for him.

The day the church gets a little bit more fired up about the word of God than we do about

a piece of pigskin crossing a touchdown line. I think we might just get about seeing change

and transformation in the world that is around us. I really believe that.

I'm one of the weird ones that actually believes that, but we're going to go to Luke.

I'm so glad you love the gospel of Luke. Chapter 7, verse 1, this is the Word of the Lord. It says

when he had concluded saying all this to the

people so jesus had just finished preaching the sermon on the mount who were listening he entered

copernium a centurion servant who was highly valued by him was sick and about to die when the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent some Jewish elders to him,

requesting him to come and save the life of his servant. When they reached Jesus, they pleaded with

him earnestly saying, he is worthy for you to grant this because he loves our nation and has built us

a synagogue. Now, Jesus went with him and when he was not far from the house

the centurion sent friends to tell him, Lord, don't trouble yourself since I am not worthy to have

you come under my roof. That is why I didn't even consider myself worthy to come to you.
