You know, Nick has always loved cycling, but in 2019, he took it to a whole other level.

His lifelong friend Darren invited him to compete in the Cape Epic in South Africa.

It's a big mountain bike race, and it was to celebrate their 50th birthday.

I need you to know that Nick had never, up until this point, ridden a mountain bike, and he had

no idea that the Cape Epic was the toughest mountain bike race in the world. It is eight days of

mountain bike riding over some of the roughest terrain anywhere. Each day averages about 60 miles of

distance and 10,000 feet of elevation. Now, did I happen to mention that Nick up until

this point had never ridden a mountain bike before? My husband is a very determined man and he was

not going to let a small detail like the fact that he'd never ridden a mountain bike before

stop him from actually entering the race. He astounded everyone that he completed the Cape Epic,
