Welcome to Talking Scripture. I'm Mike.

And I'm Bryce.

And today we're going to talk about an overview of the Old Testament.

I'm really excited.

There's a lot of moving pieces here.

But really simply, this is God's story of bringing his covenant people into a special relationship

with him.

But he's also, you know, as Latter-day Saints, we know this.

He also wants to bring all of his people into that special relationship.

There's a verse in Exodus when the people come to the mountain and Moses is about to get the commandments, and Exodus

19, verse 5, the Lord says, if you will obey my voice and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a

peculiar treasure unto me above all people, for all the earth is mine.

He wants to make them in verse 6, a kingdom of priests and a holy

nation, a sagula, a peculiar treasure, a treasured possession. Now, the Old Testament's focusing

on Israel, but there's some tension here, isn't there, Bright? He wants to save the whole world,

Mike. There's not a person on the earth he doesn't want to save.

But if he just deals with every nation separately, that's not going to be as effective as if he has
