Very glad to have you along for a very special show about healthcare.

Look, we all have big expenses in our lives that we save for because we know that they're coming.

We have new appliances, a new roof, a college education, the list goes on.

Most of us, four out of five of us, in fact, would not put healthcare expenses into that category, but we need to.

That's the results of some new interesting research that we are going to dig into during this show because it's that time of year.

Again, it's open enrollment time and whether you get your healthcare from one of the exchanges from your employer, whether you're on Medicare,

this is the time that we should be thinking about things like whether we're on the right sort of health plan for us in our particular lives and situations,

whether it's time to jump into the world of health savings accounts or HSAs, maybe even if we want to put some money into a flexible spending account and FSA for the coming year.

I know it's a lot. All of this is a lot to take in, a lot to think about spending, particularly when we have so many other goals and priorities already lining up for our hard earned money.

But starting to think about these numbers is really the only way to A, come up with strategies to lower our healthcare costs when we can.

B, save some pretty significant money on taxes and C, make sure we actually have the money for healthcare when we need it.
