| 0:25.9 | And today we are going to be in Section 133 and 134 of the Doctrine Convenants. |

| 0:34.9 | And the reason for that is because Section 133 was intended from the beginning to be an appendix. |
| 0:41.3 | It was intended to come at the end. So Section 134 really by intention should come first, and then at the end of the Doctrine Covenants, we get 133, which was intended to be the appendix. |
| 0:55.0 | So first let's jump into 134, which is a commentary on principles that govern government. |
| 1:02.4 | It was recorded on August 17, 1835 at a conference that the church was holding in |
| 1:08.6 | Courtsland, Ohio, and actually Joseph Smith and his |
| 1:12.1 | counselor Frederick G. Williams were away on a mission. And so while they're away in Michigan on a |
| 1:17.8 | mission, these articles are approved. Joseph didn't even learn about the inclusion of these articles |
| 1:23.2 | until he got back from his mission, and he didn't approve of either action, either one of these, |
| 1:29.0 | but he chose to respect the vote of the conference. |
| 1:31.3 | And so there were two articles included. |
| 1:33.5 | One was on marriage, and then one was this section. |
| 1:36.8 | Later, the article on marriage was dropped from the Doctrine Convenants in the 1876 edition |
| 1:41.5 | of the Doctrine Covenants. |
