Hey, bud, pal, friendo, Laura. How are you? Hi, we are okay. But boy, do we have a check-in this week.

Ooh, doggy. Yeah, it's been a week for our whole city. But you know what? It's your check-in first. So go ahead, my friend.

So we actually recorded a bonus episode this week that we released right away, which should be in your feed like three episodes back, four episodes back, right, Shawna, by this point by the time this gets released.

All about what happened this week, which was the fact that L.A. was on fire.

If people remember our COVID episodes,

we're like, things are changing so fast. It was really the first time we had sort of live news events that we had to figure out how to grapple with, right, Shana? Right. And what we decided for

COVID was we would do special COVID bonus episodes that we would record and release in real time talking about that. And we were going to keep our main feed kind of news free to kind of make it a respite for everyone. So I think we're going to be more or less keeping that tradition alive in this episode. That doesn't mean we're not going to talk about what we did during the fires, but we're not going to go into detail about what's going on with the fires, especially because right now we're still living through it. And in a month, hopefully things will be calmer and there will be more clarity. But I think we should just talk about our lives and what we did this week. What do you think, Shana? I like that idea. the day after the fire in Eaton Canyon started. And we went down to Long Beach to stay with

Grandma Sherry, Corey's mom. And while we were treating it sort of as an emergency, obviously

we were stressed out and worried and we were worried for all our friends and family. My kids

thought it was a fun, spontaneous vacation. Of course. That's good, though, right? That's what

we want them to feel. That is the idea, right? We didn't want to make it seem super scary.

G's advice about not inserting feelings and stuff, like not inserting interpretations of events

into the kids' minds was definitely something I had thought about, you know, like this idea

that you can say there was a fire, not there was a big
