Anyone who is a working mom or knows a working mom understands that these women are the backbone of our families and the workforce.

But I also got to say I kind of always hated the term working mom, because all moms, in my book, at least, all moms are working moms.

There are lunches to pack and parent teacher conferences to attend and kids to show for the laundry list and don't even mention laundry of our jobs goes on.

And some of us are also working as accountants, doctors, entrepreneurs, every other job imaginable while we try to juggle the rest and then scramble to make it to band rehearsals or soccer games or play practice.

It has been a while since my kids were young, but I can remember how exhausted and harried I would feel much of the time.

And over the last few years, it's only gotten harder for moms who are also in the workforce.

And according to Pew Research, 58% of working moms with kids under 12 said it was difficult to handle childcare responsibilities because of the pandemic.

And some moms were more likely than dads to say they couldn't give 100% at work that they needed to reduce hours and that they had to turn down important assignments, even promotions because of their difficulty balancing another word I hate work and parenting responsibilities.

Fortunately, many moms who wanted to get back into the paid workforce have been able to do so. In fact, more mothers of school age kids are working this year than they were in 2019.

And historically, almost all of the income gains that middle class families have experienced since 1970 are due to the rise in women's wages.

Look, we know that women's successes in the workforce, they are crucial to their family's financial success.
