episode is all about mixing cold weather and sometimes cold water with your dogs.

If you're wondering where the inspiration for this podcast comes from, don't strain your brain too hard, buddy.

We are getting into real winter, and with that comes, well, seriously cold weather.

At least it does for a lot of us, but cold is also kind of relative.

What's cold to a person from, I don't know, Corpus Christi, Texas is probably quite a bit different from what's cold to me,

a person who, for some stupid reason,

damn near lives in Canada.

Cold is relative, but also

not, at least when it comes to our

dogs and how we should approach their time

in the frigid world as the

top half of the earth tips away from the sun.

That's what this episode is all about.

I was talking to my daughters the other day about how we are going to have to try to find a few deer to hunt before our bow season here in Minnesota comes to an end.

The first thing both of them

did was to instinctively look from our kitchen table to our deck, which was covered in a fresh layer of snow.

The next question from one of them was, what's the coldest weather you've ever hunted in? Now up here in the

north country, that's kind of a loaded question. For starters, you can talk about

the air temperature, but you can't really get to the heart of coal without talking about wind chill.

When it comes to temperature, I told the girls that about eight years ago, I was still sitting on

a buck tag for Wisconsin when Christmas break rolled around, so I drove on over there to see what I could do about filling it.
