Once upon a time there was a tongue.

I am a tongue.

A human tongue no less.

It hadn't always been a human tongue of course.

A half, I am.

Well, sure, you are now, but you evolved, right?

I mean, just a brief 2.5 million years ago,

before you were a human tongue, you were a hominid tongue, and before that, 5.8 million years ago, you were

an Australopithecus tongue, and so on and so on back to nearly 500 million years ago when you went from a multi-celled

organism to a vertebrate animal with whatever version of a tongue you had then.

I used to be a multi-cell organism?

Well, technically you still are, but all I'm saying is that you have evolved to become the

tongue we all know and love today, and you'll continue evolving well into the future.
