| 0:00.0 | Hey, everybody, welcome. And thank you for listening to this episode of Marriage Therapy Radio. My name is Zach Brittle. I'm here with Laura Heck. We're back. We've both been traveling. We've been kind of all over the place. I went to New York and Denver and California. And Laura was rock climbing and doing some other stuff. We had to do a couple of one-off episodes. But here we are back together again. And I am really looking forward to picking Laura's brain. I ran into a bunch of therapists in Denver, some of whom described themselves as sex therapist. And it occurred to me, I didn't even really know what they meant when they said that. Laura is a sex therapist. And she explained it to us. She talks to us a little bit about what it means and what you would be looking for and how they can help and what wakes her up in the morning and what her passion is. And it was really cool just to let her kind of teach me and educate me. So if you've ever had a question of what exactly is a sex therapist, what do they do? How do I pick one out? Then Laura has some insight. This is a very cool conversation. Stick around. Hi. |
| 0:59.3 | Welcome back. I had a stand-in for you, by the way. I had a stand-in for you and she was delightful. She was, she... |
| 1:05.8 | My stand-in was also delightful. Yeah, yeah. Mine was a grown human, though. Ears was a child. Yeah, |
| 1:12.9 | she was great. And strangely enough, a child could do my job just as well, as well we've discovered. |
| 1:19.2 | I don't know. She needed a little warming up. She was a little shy at the front end, but then I got her |
| 1:23.2 | talking about teenage slang and she was totally, she, she, she shined. |
| 1:28.1 | I should probably go back and listen to that. |
| 1:30.0 | I don't remember what happened. |
| 1:31.4 | Oh, I started listening to a new podcast about intermittent fasting. |
| 1:36.3 | Yeah. |
| 1:36.4 | We talked about that on the podcast before. |
| 1:39.3 | No. |
| 1:39.5 | And I really appreciate it because I listened to their very first episode. |
| 1:43.6 | And one of them was like, yeah, I started listening to our first episode just to listen to the quality and make sure it was okay. And I got about five minutes in. And I was like, yep, that'll do. And that's kind of how I feel. I don't like, I don't like listening to our own voices. I don't like seeing myself on camera. I don't like our social media. Like, |
| 2:01.9 | it is a tough thing to go back and have a mirror pointed at you. And not only that, but somebody |
| 2:06.7 | recording your voice. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, it's a hard job, hard job. How was your travels? |
| 2:14.0 | It was good. I was jet setting. I've never done that before. So I left my house on a Tuesday and I went to New York for a few days. And from New York, I went to Denver for a few days. And from Denver, I went to California for a few days. And then I came home and I was gone for like 12 total days. Yeah. How did you pack for that? I had, it was hard. Yeah, I had to like kind of think ahead and figure out. |
| 2:33.9 | And then like I sent some clothes home from New York with my family. And then I, you know, kind of came down. I, I consolidated a little bit more. So it worked out. In the end, it probably wasn't ideal. But I, I was never underdressed or undressed. So that worked out just fine. |
| 2:51.6 | Never underdress. You were a never nude. |
| 2:53.6 | Yeah. |
| 2:54.6 | Yeah. |
| 2:55.6 | Do you, as I'm actually in the process while I was swimming this morning, I was thinking about what I'm going to pack because we are also going to be jet setting. |
