Summary

This week, I'm taking a walk down memory lane to look at the things I've gotten wrong (some WAAAAAY wrong) in the past 5.5 years of doing this podcast.

You'll hear my revelations on risk, self-care and burnout, tackling big goals, pleasure, and how everything (annoyingly so!!) starts at home. (I'll also share what I mean by that!)

Aaaaand you'll hear me talk about why I'm comfortable sharing this list and what I'm doing about these revelations. Because this learning is part of the process and just because I've gotten things wrong in the past doesn't mean I can't keep going and bring my learning along with me!

Episode Quotes

"We cannot just say YES to the risk without also saying YES to the reverence."

"There is something really beautiful about realizing that you are stronger without the shield of all the things you've convinced yourself make you stronger."

"Self-care is a daily and ongoing devotion to yourself and the things you want to do."

"Pleasure and delight are not frivolous."

"The things that you want to do all starts with YOU and how are you showing up to yourself."

"It's not about what you are doing, it's about who are you being."

"The fix may not be quick, may not be comfortable, but it is available. Are you willing to show up anyway?"

Doing something a little bit different this week.

0:36.3

I don't know that I've ever done an episode like this before, but I was thinking about the podcast, as I do always often. I'm always

0:40.4

trying to, trying to think about this and what I want to tell you and what feels like the

0:47.4

right thing for me to talk about coupled with what I feel like you might want or need to

0:53.6

hear. And as I was thinking through this,

0:56.7

I realized, you know, we've got literally at this point hundreds of episodes in the archives.

1:03.2

I started doing this podcast five and a half years ago in 2014. So we'll be coming up this

1:10.2

fall on the sixth year anniversary of

1:13.1

raise your hands to yes, which is bonkers. You've heard me say it before that I often

1:18.7

feel like I've been doing this podcast forever. And also like I just started, which feels

1:26.0

it feels really fun to be at home here, but also know that

1:31.0

there's so much that I want to talk about. And had you told me back in 2014 when my little

1:36.1

girls were just wee babes that, you know, in 2020, I would be living in a completely

1:42.1

different state. And I would be recording episode

1:45.6

317 of this podcast. I would have probably said, really? Oh, my God, I can't even imagine.

1:53.4

And then I would have gotten really overwhelmed and just hidden under the covers. So thanks,
