0:26.4	considered by a number of commentators who see the Democrats going the way of the Whigs.
0:32.2	Here's a quick history lesson. The Whig Party was one of the two great American political
0:36.9	parties of its time.
0:38.7	It stood alongside the Democratic Party in the mid-19th century, and it produced four U.S.
0:44.5	presidents, William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor, and Millard Fillmore.
0:50.4	Notwithstanding, these rather impressive achievements, nevertheless, the Whig Party managed to
0:55.9	destroy itself and was dissolved in 1854, just 21 years after its founding being replaced
1:02.8	in effect by the Republican Party. So going the way the Whigs refers to a party that is on its
1:09.8	way to extinction only to be replaced by another party.
1:14.4	And many are asking today whether the Democrats are on this primrose path, especially after
