I wanted to take a moment before today’s podcast episode (Episode 31) to let you know that I will sometimes have guests on the show to talk about eating and health more broadly, or to address issues that go beyond binge eating.  I want you to understand the purpose of this, and I also want you to realize that not everything you hear will apply to you.  I want to give you many viable and healthy options, and then empower you to choose what information you will use as you follow your own unique path to recovery.

Hi, it's Catherine, the host of the Brain Over Binge podcast. Before the episode today, I have a message for you that I think is important for you to hear before listening to today's show and future episodes as well. My focus here on the podcast is to help you stop binge eating. That is primary. And if you're a regular listener, you know that you do that by dismissing binge urges

and eating adequately. But I also want to go beyond that sometimes with the topics that I discuss

and the guests that I bring on the show. I want to expand the ways that I'm helping you,

and give you some different perspectives, especially in relation to eating and to health. And when we talk about

health, that can include so many different things, because health is certainly not all about food.

This is an area where I believe that many different healthy perspectives are needed, because otherwise,

if you do have health concerns or you want to make improvements in the way you eat, or if you feel

like you're over your natural healthy weight and you don't know what to do about it, you may feel

tempted to return to the unhealthy practice of restrictive dieting. And if you've listened to the podcast,

you know that that's the last thing I would want you to do. The Brain Over Binge Podcast will definitely remain a

podcast about ending binge eating. But from time to time, I want to give you resources that you can

turn to even after you end the binge eating habit or resources that you can use to improve your
