So let's talk for a moment about obedience, like what that means to actually like, okay, when we say take the dare.

I remember that my mom had this spanking stick.

Didn't all moms back then?

Yeah, right?

Clearly she didn't use it enough on me, but she had the stick because the spanking

stick in and of itself was supposed to deter us for making the bad choices. And the spanking

stick literally had printed on it. Obedience brings blessing. And I just remember, I'm like,

is that supposed to make me think, okay, if I just

remake the good choices, it's going to bring blessing in my life. It might mean that it's going

to take a little bit of time, you know, because sometimes you want to do the wrong thing because

it will just feel so right for a moment, but it will lead to destruction. But like the good choices

and making those good choices, even when they're hard,

that obedience brings blessing.

And I even just think to maybe the first time that you ever spoke in public,

and I love this story because I feel like sometimes people, yeah, people just want to like, you know, they think, okay, I'm going to do

what God's call me to do and it's going to be amazing and I'm going to walk into this moment

and it's going to be like the angels are going to be singing and everyone's going to be applauding

and it's going to be so great. But that's not always the way that it is. And I love the story of the first time that you

spoke, because the first time I heard you speak, I think the angels were singing. It was like,
