My guest is a gentleman called Mark.

He lives in the UK and he was a farmer.

And he was raised on dairy and sheep farms and he was actively involved in the farming process

himself as a farmer for 21 years and he wants to share some of his experiences

today Mark actually reached out to me via email and said

that he wanted to talk about his experiences that he felt that he had an

obligation almost to talk about it and he discusses this in the podcast as well

so I won't take words out of Marx Marfa let him speak for himself in that sense but

he was expressing the fact that he'd seen Land of Open Glory the documentary that I co-created in 2017 and it brought back I think a lot of memories for him and he just wanted to have a platform from which to discuss his experiences and so you know we were

chatting over email a little bit and I asked if you wanted to appear on the

podcast to talk about those experiences so that's what we have today.

Mark's family is still involved in the farming industries.

A lot of the people that Mark grew up around,

you know, people that maybe he considered friends,

but at the very least he knew from a very young age are also still actively involved

within the animal farming industries as well. However, Mark turned his back on the farming

industries and he is now a vegan and he has a vegan family and he's very passionate about his veganism and so I just want the podcast to be a way of him having new opportunity to share his experiences. I think what's happening a lot or what we've seen

you know with documentaries such as 73 cows, the BAFRA award winning documentary about the farmer
