Hey everyone, welcome to Foundations. I'm your host Tony Peterson and today's

episode is all about how we communicate with our dogs and how they talk right

back to us even if they don't say anything.

The world of dog ownership, you know, particularly when you get into working dogs,

is kind of just dominated by advice on how to speak to a

dog and get it to do something for us. That bleeds into everyday pet ownership as well.

And while it's not necessarily a bad thing, it really sells the whole relationship short, or at least the communication aspect of the relationship.

There are a lot of things to learn about how dogs speak to us and how we should speak to them.

And that's what I'm going to talk about right now.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that a lot of you fine listeners don't really know who I am.

That's okay. I won't take it personally. Most people don't. The ones who do are usually very passionate about white tail

hunting because that's where I got my start in the outdoor industry. Bo hunting

white tails, particularly white tails on public land, has been a passion of mine for a long time and has led me to having

a pretty crazy career, especially for someone who has never considered a very good student.

Now as much as I'd like to sit here and talk about myself, the reason I mention this is that I have sort of a weird following in the deer hunting space.

I'm not super popular overall, but with the people who do like me for some reason, I'm very popular.

This is mostly a good thing, I guess.

I like creating content that helps people have better deer hunts, where this relationship to the audience sucks,

and I mean really, really sucks,

is when I get pinned down at some event or some restaurant

or something by someone who knows who I am and wants to tell me every story from his deer hunting life.

Now I say his intentionally here because it's never once happened to me with a woman hunter.
