Welcome back my friends. Los Le Montgomery here. Thanks for returning. I'm not knocking

it, but we got all the less exciting stuff out of the way already in part one. Things

are going to pick up a pace here in part two. We covered dialies early years and how

we went out and made some breaks in his life, lived a life as a thug, pulling down a paycheck

from the king of assassins, Wang Yachiao, and later from Big Ears, Du Yuesheng, the green

gang boss. And from subsequent chants and counters with Hu Zongnan and a childhood friend

from his birthplace in Jiangshan, Maoran Fung, it put Daili right in the middle of the primordial

soup that was going to evolve into the Jiang Kai Shack regime. In this episode we'll

pick up where we left off from the death of Sun Yat Sen in March 1926. And for the next

several years, Jiang Kai Shack had some serious competition that dogged him politically. And

it wasn't just common from the communists, even within the KMT organization and the military.

Not everyone was keen on Jiang. But by 1932 he managed to claw his way to the top and got

to breathe a momentary sigh of relief. When he took stock of his situation, Jiang saw that some

of his success came in part from Daili, who was there every step of the way when he was fighting

for his political life and all throughout Jiang's travails to win the undisputed leadership role
