Summary

Laura interviews Natalie Queiroz, MBE about one of the most horrific attempted domestic homicides in the UK. On Friday 4 March 2016 Natalie, who was 8 months pregnant at the time, was walking to the bank when she was attacked from behind by a man wielding a 12-inch carving knife. He stabbed her 24 times in the heart, lung, liver and uterus and attempted to slit her wrists.  Against all medical odds Natalie and her baby survived, but not without life-changing injuries and her life falling apart when she found out who her attacker was. Determined to know the truth about why he had attacked her, Natalie faced her attacker in prison. This is a tough listen but an important one. It could save your life knowing what Natalie discovered.  Cliphttps://youtu.be/2PYWTvt-rEs?si=AaRapbg43tFM1Pgj #CrimeAnalyst #Femicide #AttemptedMurder #TrueCrime #Podcast #TrueCrimePodcast #DomesticAbuse #KnifeAttack #KnifeCrime #DomesticViolenceAwarenessMonth #NatalieQueiroz Find Natalie here: Natalie’s website Natalie’s Book Masterclasses and Crime Analyst Resources and Community  For those interested in learning more, Laura offers 2025 Masterclasses covering topics such as profiling behavior, preventing murder and suicide in slow motion, DASH, DASH Train the Trainer, coercive control, and stalking. As I was going through the alley, I started to hear some footsteps almost running behind me. And I glanced over my shoulder, and all I could see was a man with a hooded top, hood right up, head down, approaching really, really quickly. And I don't know why, just sitting inside me, said, this isn't good, this isn't good. Didn't recognise him, just thought, scruffly dressed guy, because he was all in disguise.

And I thought, it's okay, because it comes out into a dead end road. And I was nearly at the road. And I thought, well, there's buildings and there's cars and there's somebody walking up the hill. So my whole brain was doing that whole self-talk. So there were people around. Yeah, and I could see certain town centre ahead of me.

And there's literally a guy who I now know is John Mitchell, Johnny, who was one of the first people to come to my rescue. He was walking up the hill. And when did you realise that he had a knife? So he grabbed me, jumped on me. And I first of all thought it was being mugged because he came on my right side where my bag was. And as I was struggling to get free, he literally just pulled, drew out this big, large carving knife in his right hand. I remember seeing the knife thinking, oh my god, he's got a knife. And without even a time to process it, he was stabbing me straight into the chest. And you're eight months pregnant, yeah.
