Summary

Let’s face it – without reticles, riflescopes would just be gun-mounted spotting scopes. Reticles are supremely important to shooters and hunters by delivering critical data from 100 yard zeroes to bullet drop, range estimation to improved speed and accuracy up close. They’re also one of the biggest question marks when it comes to purchasing a new riflescope or learning how to use one you already have. Jimmy, Mark, Jimmy (Not a typo) and Nick do a deep dive on reticles from traditional and simple duplex-style reticles to the most complex “Christmas Tree” First Focal Plane precision reticles and everything in between. We also touch on caliber-specific BDC’s, MOA vs MRAD and clever tricks for using some of the Vortex reticle offerings in different scopes. If you’ve ever wanted to get the maximum potential from your scope’s reticle, check out this episode, read up on the reticle manual for your scope if you haven’t already and get to the range to get shooting! As always - let us know if there are any topics you'd like covered on the Vortex Nation podcast by asking us on any one of our social media platforms and using #VortexNationPodcast.

At least three or four. Right, right. And working here too, they've both worked here for a fair bit and have

had their fair share of questions because both of you have been Jimmy still is and Nick

actually your real transition a bit but both of you have been on the phones quite a

0:59.5

bit you know just answering questions all day and you've probably answered as many questions about radicals as rounds you've fired.

1:07.0

I would imagine.

1:08.0

On a daily basis you do get a lot because we have so many different radical options and people want to know why we do

1:15.5

this radical for this optic and what radical suits my needs best.

1:20.1

You get that quite a bit.

1:21.1

Yeah, absolutely.

1:22.3

So, and we get tons of them on social media all the time. So we figured we're all primed and ready to talk about this. Maybe maybe help out some people who are in the jungle of various different radicals out there so even just within our own

1:34.1

line we have quite a few we're gonna go into those one thing that I was curious and I was

1:37.3

gonna ask you guys about because I know that either either some of us have been in on

1:41.4

the pre-development process or we've then kind of had our

1:45.5

meetings before a product gets launched with different radicals and things like that.

1:49.4

What is it that goes into on our end choosing the reticle style that'll go into a certain

scope.

1:57.8

There's a lot of things.
