Okay, we all know who ISIS is.

We all know there's a major worldwide refugee crisis.

But what does that even mean?

What does it look like on the ground?

And what are small everyday ways we can do our part to alleviate the crazy?

My guests in this episode are Jeremy and Jessica Courtney. I met them a few years ago. Actually,

I met Jeremy at a dinner party at a mutual friends house in Bend, Oregon, and we sat next to each

other at the dinner table. We got to talking, it turns out we grew up just a few miles from

each other in Austin, Texas. So whenever they're back in town, we try to get our families together.

They're a fantastic couple with great kids, very much like you and me. Parents wanting good

things for their kids, people wanting to make a difference with their lives. In this chat,

I'm talking to them from my bedroom in

Austin while they're in their house in Iraq, where they've lived for almost a decade. We talk

about ISIS, who they are, what they're doing, and what it looks like right in front of their faces.

We're talking feet away. We talk about refugees, who they are, what they're

doing, and what they really need. It's probably not what you might think. And we talk about a really,

really cool thing that they've started to help Iraqis fighting for their lives, their homes,
