I frequently get asked about simple living in a big city. I think sometimes we equate simple living with maybe living on a farm or off the grid somehow.

Or maybe even in a small town you know stars hollow all these things

make it conducive to living smaller and simpler life well where we live doesn't have to dictate

how we live right we have limitations in every environment but that's the case with everywhere small

town farm suburbs big city and today i want to talk about limitations in every environment, but that's the case with everywhere, small town, farm, suburbs,

big city. And today I want to talk about simple living in a big city. My guest is my friend,

Kristen Kill, who is a transplant to New York City, specifically Manhattan. She's originally

from the Pacific Northwest, but has been in the city for a while now.

So she's got the perspective of living in a smaller town where she was from and living in perhaps the world's most famous mega city.

In this chat, we talk about the practicals, groceries, laundry, living space, you know, the square footage, what it means to live in a community

and to know your neighbors, how you get out in nature in a big city, having a dog in the

city in an apartment, educating your kids. Basically, everything we're going to talk about today

is about the question, can you live simply in a huge city?

Are those two ideas at odds with each other?

The answer isn't what most people assume.
