prayer or I mean rather he's going to lead this discussion with myself and our special guest Aaron, a listener who had quite the interesting essay.

So we're going to be taking a closer look at the Mormon Church's

perpetual education fund, which is a program that Gordon B. Hinckly started way back in 2001.

In the Church's own words, the Perpetual Education Fund is a bold initiative to help youth

in developing areas rise out of the poverty they and generations before them have known.

But in reality, this wouldn't be a super interesting

discussion if that were true. So you're going to hear us talk about what it

really is, which is a loan program. It's basically the church acting as a bank and

loaning out money to poor people in several countries and making money off of them

but there's a lot more to it it's fascinating so structurally we're going to start with Aaron's essay and then we'll switch over to the panel discussion and then we decided to leave at the end to leave on 15 minutes or so of after discussion.
