Hi everybody. Tom Woods here. It's episode 2696 of the Tom Woods show. We have the great John Schaefer with us. John, you will know, I hope, if you have a discriminating ear as the songwriter, the lead guy, guitarist for Iced Earth. But he had numerous other projects as well, demons and wizards, sons of liberty,

decapitating people whatever you know and disemboweling people you'd think these would be tough people

1:49.6

but when push comes to shove as soon as the COVID people come along they hide in a corner like a little

1:54.9

girl you know I mean it's incredible so it's like you and Phil Labonte and like one or two other people who actually are tough guys.

2:03.5

But anyway, so how would you describe your political views?

2:06.7

Well, I'm just a pro-freedom guy.

2:09.0

I mean, I have to admit that there was a point in my life where I bought into the neocon stuff.

2:14.3

It was a long time ago.

2:15.3

A lot of us did.

2:16.4

Yeah.

2:17.2

And, you know, I think people need to grow

2:19.6

and change their positions as they learn more. And I'm always willing to be convinced that I'm

2:24.7

wrong about something. So, but I think it takes a certain kind of intestinal fortitude to admit

2:30.5

you're wrong about things and that you were seeing the world through a false view.
