Summary

This episode is the very core of what 10 Things To Tell You is about: reflection, growth, and great conversations.

And this conversation happens to be with one of my oldest friends and very favorite person to be on the microphone with: Meg Tietz. We're talking through the many ways we've changed in the last 10 years - since 2015 - in our home & family, career, and spiritually/emotionally. We have so much to say about our mid-30s, mid-2010s selves, and we're encouraging YOU to reflect on your own changes from the last decade.

Meg is a writer, speaker, voice over artist, and internet pioneer. I have been following in her footsteps since high school, and she is responsible for giving me my first shot at podcasting when she launched the Sorta Awesome show in 2015. Together we created and produced Smartest Person in the Room and now we're both creating regularly on Substack.

Welcome to the 10 Things to Tell You podcast. I'm Laura Tremaine. I always have at least 10 things to tell you,

0:18.7

and you have 10 things to tell. This is a show where we believe

0:24.0

that sharing yourself will make you less lonely. Ten years ago this month, one of my oldest and

0:33.0

dearest friends Meg Tietz started a podcast called Sorta Awesome. Meg was and is a pioneer in so many online

0:43.3

spaces, including in podcasting, and when she asked me to be a co-host on Sorta Awesome, I had no

0:49.2

idea that it was a project that would change my life in so many ways, right up to and beyond this very moment,

0:57.0

a decade later, as I am still on the microphone with you.

1:01.8

I stepped away from being a regular co-host on Sort of Awesome in 2017, and after many

1:07.6

wonderful years and episodes and memories and culture-changing conversations,

1:13.1

Meg brought Sort of Awesome to a close in 2023.

1:17.2

But one of the things I always loved about that show and that I hope that I have brought

1:22.3

to 10 Things to Tell You is the ability to be introspective without navel gazing, to evolve and grow without the

1:33.6

betrayal of self, and to share stories and thought processes as a way for the listener to dig

1:41.3

deeper in their own inner lives. This is the collective energy that changes

1:48.7

the world. And so as Meg Teets and I talk about the way we've each changed in the last 10 years

1:57.3

in our home life and in our careers and in our spirituality, I hope that you too

2:03.3

think about the changes in these areas in your own life, the changes that you have made,

2:10.2

the changes that were made for you, and the changes that you couldn't even see or feel

2:16.6

until something was different.

2:19.7

This is my favorite type of exercise.

2:22.3

It is my favorite type of conversation and episode.

2:26.4

This is the very core of 10 Things to Tell You.
