Hello everybody. It's Tom Woods here, and it's episode 26-26 of the Tom Woods show. And we're joined once again by our friend Dan McCarthy, who is vice president for the Collegiate Network at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute. He's editor of Modern Age, which I urge you to check out at modern agejournal.com. He's a syndicated columnist. I tell people all the time that I read his columns in the New York Post. And I want to talk to him about current events and what is going on in Trump world. So, Dan, welcome back. Thanks, all. All right. Do you think things are going off the rails here? Or what do you think's happening? I mean, I'm not even giving you any specifics. We'll get into specifics, but give me an overall assessment of where we are. Well, Trump got off to a good start with a lot of momentum at the beginning of his administration of just two months ago. And at this point, he's started a lot of battles. And the question question is is he going to be able to finish any of

1:12.1

them in a way that's going to be good for the country and good for his own political resources

1:17.9

and right now it seems as if the administration's struggling quite a bit i think they have

1:24.7

fallen into the usual unsuccessful habits in terms of foreign policy

1:29.5

dealing with the Houthis, the attempt to get peace in both the Middle East and also between

1:35.4

Russia and Ukraine.

1:36.8

That all seems to be rather stalled.

1:39.0

Italy, it was something that was never going to take place extremely quickly anyway,

1:42.4

but it's definitely going to be as difficult

1:44.6

as one might have expected. And then, of course, you know, what Trump is doing with tariffs,

1:48.8

it may be that he is threatening tariffs that he's actually not going to implement, but

1:52.8

you've got a very nervous stock market right now. And the way he's approaching, at least talking

1:57.1

about the tariffs, is something that would be sudden and dramatic as opposed to simply

2:02.8

saying we're going to gradually go from more of a free trade position to more of a protectionist

2:08.5

one. So in all of these, Trump has been trying to move very, very quickly. And I think as a result,

2:13.0

now they're starting to see the administration make some mistakes and slip up. Okay, well, I would be happy if it were just a matter of they're slipping up.

2:21.9

But even people who voted for Trump because they were concerned about immigration

2:26.4

are wondering about the priorities here.

2:30.0

The high-profile cases involve people on college campuses.

2:37.0

Now, let me just say, i think one of the big problems that the Palestinian cause has is Palestinian supporters supporters of that cause
