It's episode 2,575. It is the Thanksgiving Day episode. So happy Thanksgiving, everybody. And I would like to give special thanks on this Thanksgiving to Ken McCarthy right here. See, there's a ham-handed segue for you. But he actually did something very important. And we want to talk about it.

He was part of something. You don't even realize you owe him something. In a way, we kind of spiritually do owe something to Ken McCarthy.

And that's not the primary purpose of his story. The primary purpose of his story is to tell us about how we got the web that we wound up getting and how it wound up being despite all

the flaws, despite the sensors, despite all that, the fact that we have a Tom Wood show at all

and that it can reach anybody in the world means it is still a tremendous blow for human freedom.

It didn't have to take that path, but it did.

And there were certain decisions that were made and things that were done during the

critical years, several critical years in the early 1990s that gave us the result that we got.

Now, Ken McCarthy, he's everything.

He's a copywriter, a marketer, aer a business genius whom as you know i have used

and hired and he used as a consultant paid a lot of bucks tube and was worth every penny but he's

also an author of a huge slate of books on so many different topics you think there must be be multiple Ken McCarthy's, but it's all just the one guy.
