0:24.3	talking scripture. I'm Mike and I'm Bryce and today we are going to be talking about
0:28.8	the introductory pages of the Book of Mormon. Basically we're talking about all the information
0:35.4	before 1st Nephi Chapter 1 and so the first thing we're going to cover is the
0:40.6	title page. Now this is a literal translation. This was written by Moroni and
0:47.1	Joseph himself said that the title page is not by any means a modern composition either of mine or of any other man who
0:56.7	has lived or does live in this generation.
1:00.0	And so this being the last leaf in the Book of Mormon,
1:03.7	the title page was most likely written by Maroni
1:07.1	right before he put the plates in the ground
1:09.7	back when he lived.
1:11.2	And this title page is important because it covers the purpose of the
1:16.5	Book of Mormon. It's the mission statement. Why the Book of Mormon came to be?
1:20.6	And after the title page, we read the Introduction to the Book of Mormon. This was
1:26.9	written by the Scripture Publication Committee headed by Elder Monson, Packer, and
1:31.5	Maconkey of the Quorum of the 12
1:33.7	back between the years of 1979 and 1981.
