Today we'll be telling the story of St Joseph Kefasso, whose feast is celebrated on June 23rd.

Joseph was born in what is now Italy in January of 1811.

He was born with a curved spine, which made him shorter and more frail than most men as an

adult.

But this did not stop him from achieving his dream

of becoming a priest and working non-stop.

St Joseph was a well-known lecturer, confessor,

and spiritual director, especially for those who wanted to start religious orders,

including St. John Bosco. But he gained the nickname, The Priest of the Galos,

because of his extensive work with and love of prisoners. St. Joseph Kefasso died in 1860 and St. John Bosko was the preacher at his funeral.

St. Joseph Kefasso is the patron saint of prisonlins, Prisoners, and those on death row.
