Summary

Humility and meekness can be two of the most challenging virtues to display but they are two of the most impacting. If you struggle with humility, we’ll see how what we’re grasping on to is often what’s keeping us from a humble posture. And if you’ve ever mistook meekness for weakness, it’s anything but. Meekness is power under control. It takes a great deal of strength to exhibit this particular virtue which is why it’s one of my favorites in Paul’s list. This series will impact our relationships, everyone from family members, friends, co-workers, people we love, even those who have hurt us. We’ll be working our way through Colossians 3:12-15 where Paul talks about putting on compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience, along with forgiveness, love, gratitude, and peace. 0:57.4	Yeah. Access more. Well, hello, and welcome back to the Cultivate Podcast. I am Kelly Minter, and I am so glad that you are joining me. We are in the middle of a super practical series called Putting on the Character of Christ.
1:04.7	And we are really just kind of camping in Colossians 3 versus 12 through 15, where Paul talks about the
1:13.5	reality that those who are in Christ are chosen by him, set apart and dearly loved, and as a result,
1:21.5	we get to wear these virtues of Christ as not something that we do to earn God's favor or to earn salvation,
1:29.5	but because of who we already are in Christ.
1:32.6	What I am loving about this particular series is that it is so practical because it is all
1:39.3	about relationships.
1:41.1	As we make our way through Colossians 3, 12 through 15, we'll see that Paul tells us to put
1:46.9	on compassion and goodness, humility, gentleness, patience. He tells us to forgive one another,
1:55.4	to be thankful, to love one another. All of this has to do with other people. There's absolutely not, there's no
2:03.7	virtue listed here that has to do with just our own selves. And so if you have come and you're in a
2:10.1	place where you're just really struggling with some of these, you know, you find yourself lashing out
2:15.2	in pride or arrogance, or maybe instead of being patient, you're
2:19.6	quick to be critical or angry. Instead of perhaps compassion, you're judgmental. I mean,
2:27.3	we all deal with these things, right? As I'm saying these things, I'm thinking, okay, yes,
