Hello everybody. Welcome to the Antifada. Episode 2011. Boy, we really made it far, haven't we? We are here, Andy and myself, with a very special guest and a friend, of course, Alex Press on the Labor Beat with Jacobin, the nation, the new republic, all sorts of other places.

What's up Alex, how's it going?

Oh, it's going well.

I mean, Sean and I, we often argue about labor when we run into each other around town, so I'm glad to have a more formal excuse to argue about labor.

Yeah, now that's great. I think in the main episode here, the one for everybody, the free one,

we're going to not do so much arguing as much as Alex is going to give us as we like to do on this show, like an update on the quote-unquote

labor movement on what's going on with workers in the United States of America.

Basically, the beat that you're on because you know more about this probably than anybody.

We know you're at the conventions, you're at strikes, you're at pickets, you're talking with

workers in rank-it-file organizations.

You have an affiliation with the DSA as well, right?

And their labor committees?

I do.

I do, though I'm not particularly active with their labor committees.

In part, for reasons that actually aren't real, you know know I just figured if I'm going to

cover things maybe it's a little easier to not also be having a hand in

creating them fair enough fair enough that whole journalistic integrity. Well it's you know it's a tricky thing I'm very

openly a partisan of the working class I don't pretend to be a journalist really but in you know I think

sometimes it just gets a little confusing but yes affiliation But yes, affiliation with DSA for sure.
