Summary

Trucking right along with our birth story series brings us to Theo's birth, which was part "dream birth" and part, "Why, Lord??!"

If I know anything about birth at this point, it's that it will always be predictably unpredictable. The predictable things for me: going "late" (usually 42 weeks), long hiccupy prodromal periods, and (almost always) 5-7 hours of active labor. The rest? Well, who knows what will happen?

The thing I know I can rely on, though: God is good, and He will never leave my side, no matter how convinced I become that I really will be the first women to ever keep her baby in utero forever!

Enjoy, friends!

P.S. Remember: This is the last podcast I'm releasing until we return from our big European adventure. But I'll jump right back in with birth stories when I return.

which is that I am recording this.

I don't know how funny it is,

maybe a little bit more insane,

but I'm recording this about 30 minutes before we head out on a giant trip to Europe.

Our family planned this trip about four years ago and then it was about to come to fruition and just like so many of

0:36.1

you have experienced our trip got cancelled because of COVID because we were supposed to leave

0:40.9

about two weeks after everything started shutting down.

0:43.3

So we kind of crossed our fingers and prayed and held on with anticipation that maybe we would be able to transfer our

tickets. Air France was who we had our tickets through and they were very accommodating and

0:54.7

thankfully we were able to cancel Airbnb rentals and all the things not all the

things but most of the things that we had books because there were allowances for COVID.

1:05.2

Well, it didn't so happen that we were able to rebook it in the time frame that we needed

1:11.4

to be able to use our Air France tickets, and so we'd kind of kiss that dream goodbye and more content with it.

1:16.7

We had two-year-old newborn twins. We had 10 kids total at this point when we have been traveling before it would have been eight kids.

1:23.4

It just felt like maybe the Lord was saying no and we were accepting of that though disappointed

obviously well about maybe June of last year so a little less than a year ago because today is May 1st.

Oh my goodness.

It's just May 1st has been coming for such a long time for our family because it's been the
