Summary

Ever wondered what it would be like to have identical twin girls at home? Well, wonder no longer because I take you along for the ride of what was, at once, my hardest and best birth. Of course, just because this is how my birth with one set of twins went, that's no guarantee yours would be the same or that my second set was a repeat (hint: it definitely wasn't). That's the beauty of birth--it's completely unique, even within the same mom's different experiences.

Enjoy!

Bible references:

Psalm 73:3

Psalm 34:19

Matthew 6:34

Hello and welcome to the MS-Mama Podcast. I'm your host Abby Halberstadt, happy wife,

0:10.5

Mama to 10, Bible Believing Christian.

0:13.2

And on today's show, we're going to keep on talking birth stories.

0:16.2

If you were with us last week, then you know that I told you about my first three births

0:22.0

of Ezra, who is my my oldest almost 17 years old Simon who was 15

0:26.0

and half and Della whose full name is Adelaide the Collardella and she is 12 and we kind of ended with a cliffhanger of the twins coming up.

0:37.0

So I have two sets of twins actually and their births were very different and eventually I will get to telling you about both of

0:43.9

them but the twin birth that I'm going to talk about today is my first which are my

0:48.5

twin girls that are identical their names are Evangelion and I know, we call them Evian, Noah, and their birth was in some ways,

0:57.0

I think I said this on the last podcast, both the easiest and the best and the hardest and the worst of any of my labors. Now I will say the

1:06.0

labor itself or what led up to it was really what made it hard. The birth itself was

1:11.4

absolutely hands down my best most pain-free most enjoyable

1:16.8

If there is such a thing I know many of you are home birthers that are listening to this and actually enjoy your births.

1:23.6

And the more I have children and the more births I experience, the more I'm able to be

1:29.5

mentally present and have my perspective changed to one of gratitude even when I'm in the midst of the hard and the pain and the push and the struggle and so I can see how you could view something as truly enjoyable that is literally and physically

1:46.1

and metaphorically stretching you so much but in the moment I don't know that I'm

1:50.1

necessarily usually enjoying myself if ever. However, Evianola might sort of kind of

1:56.6

be the exception to that because their actual birth was not pain free but quick and as pain free as I've ever experienced and I'm

2:07.7

getting ahead of myself so let me back up and tell you about the lead up to it

2:10.7

which was the gnarly part. I carried Evian Nola to 39 weeks in four days

2:16.6

which is pretty amazing for any set of twins but especially impressive. Yay God, forgive me a body that does this, for monody twins. Now, let me give you a brief overview of what that is.

2:28.4

A monodyty twin pregnancy is one in which you have one placenta and two separate amniotic sex.
