We'll be presented with a God who likes like, looks like these, the captors who've held us hostage and frighten us to death.

And the only way we've survived is to manage some kind of cognitive dissonance where we somehow align with this

genocidal maniac we call God in order to be able to survive psychologically and hopefully

get to heaven if we're good guys. And then along comes materialistic,

scientism and atheism telling us,

there is no God whatsoever, there is no transcendence.

When you die, you croak that it lights out. Now the people who are allegedly going to free us from this maniacal

God are worse. They're giving us meaningless world. There is no such thing as consciousness or the soul or the afterlife, and

now we're cut between the devil and the deep you'll see.

Today's guest is Father Sean O'Lari, PhD. Father Sean was ordained a Catholic

priest in 1972 and spent 14 years working in Kenya during which he published his first book written in Swahili.

He has a master's and a doctoral degree in transpersonal psychology and is a licensed clinical

psychologist in private practice as well as the author of five other books,

his latest being setting God free.

Sean is the co-founder and spiritual director of a non-denominational community called

companions on the journey based in Palo Alto.
