This time of year is typically associated with loneliness and mental health.

And just in case you happen to be listening in the future, we're in December 2020. And so we are in what I call the 12 weeks of self-esteem torment and of course it's also the festive season

holiday season approaching end of year and I call it the 12 weeks of self-esteem

torment because there are a series of, what do we call them, events with social expectations and

imagery associated with them. And so when it gets to about November time we start to think about

gathering for instance with family and other loved ones.

If we're in America for for instance, we might think about

Thanksgiving. We might be thinking about Christmas coming up, whatever it is that is

approaching. We've also then got the end of year, so we reflect on the year that has gone by.

So we get to look back on what was and what wasn't so great. And then we have obviously Christmas

and everything that comes with that, whatever we do or we don't celebrate around that time.

And that might include spending time around family. It might be about our romantic

relationship. It might be about what we're doing on our own or with friends. Then we go into

the new year. So it's new year, new you, new habits out with the old, in with the new.

Lots of people joining the gym, lots of people talking about giving up alcohol or

whatever it might be. And so there's all of that and of course we might get off to a fly and start in the new year or we might start

the new year with quite a bump. In fact, I believe that the beginning of the year is quite

a time for breakups and the announcements of divorce.

After we've gone through, you know, all of the New Year stuff, got good old Valentine's Day.
