Summary

Today we welcome Karen Newell to the show! Karen is the co-founder of Sacred Acoustics, alongside Eben Alexander (listen to our episode with him here), an author, and empowers others in their journeys of self-discovery. There’s so much that goes into sound, spirituality, and consciousness, and Karen does an incredible job at teaching and helping us understand it all. She shares how to enter and engage your own consciousness in order to connect to inner guidance, achieve inspiration, improve wellness and develop intuition. In our conversation we talk about what people experience when they incorporate binaural beats to their daily practice, the spiritual connection that is created when listening to the sounds, and the different types of brain waves we experience. Karen also shares with us her thoughts on using sound and tone for ADD and ADHD, and we hear all about Karen’s book, Living in a Mindful Universe.   We also talk about… How Karen began using sound in her meditations Meeting her different spirit guides + connecting with them Astral traveling + out of body experiences Why we chant and om in yoga practice Stored emotional trauma   Find more to love at almost30podcast.com!   Resources: Learn more: sacredacoustics.com Youtube: Sacred Acoustics   Read: Living In A Mindful Universe   yourpodcastpro.com   Upcoming Events: March 26th: Rachel Rosen Event College Tour: Email events@almost30podcast.com    Hotline : 1 (424) 272-1853   Sponsors: Buffy | Go to www.buffy.co use code ALMOST30 for $20 off Four Sigmatic | Use code ALMOST30 for 15% off your order at foursigmatic.com/almost30 Thrive Market | Use code ALMOST30 to save 25% off your first order. Talking a lot about cancel culture. Yes. And how toxic that is. I actually didn't know what cancel culture was until they explained it to me today.

1:48.0

I I witnessed it, but I didn't know is called that. And I honestly didn't know how severe and detrimental it is when someone is, you know.

2:04.0

But cancel culture. So cancel culture is a term used to refer to the phenomenon of canceling in quotes or no longer morally financially or digitally supporting people usually usually celebrities or things that people have deemed unacceptable or problematic.

2:21.0

So it's usually when people on social media, someone does something and people just cancel them immediately kind of disregarding anything else they have to say beyond that point.

2:32.0

And it's really just the culture of inability to allow people to evolve. You know, if I was on social media when I was eight in eighth grade, who knows what I was saying and doing, you know, nothing, nothing would have gotten me canceled.

3:41.0

Like we always, you know, now it's it's the thing like let's talk. Let's communicate. Let's come together in community. Like, okay, let's do it. Like let's actually have a conversation.
