Welcome back to the team room, everybody. One's ready. You got Trent. You got Aaron here. Probably the biggest guests we've ever had on. Not big in stature, but probably the most important one that we've ever had. Another cold call that just worked out. Nick Kolomato. Thanks for coming on. We appreciate it.

0:20.0

Excellent. It was a great intro. You just said my name wrong, but yeah, I say Nick the Greek guy, because I don't know how to say it really nice to say is my internet just completely froze. And that's why the intro gets screwed up. And here we are. There we go. That's that's what it was. It was technically.

0:38.0

Thanks for having me on guys. It's an honor. Yeah. Yeah. Like I said, we really appreciate it. Once you tell everybody just a little bit of background about yourself.

0:48.0

Yeah, absolutely. I served from 2012 with the Marine Corps. Half of that was with Marine Reconnaissance. The other half was with Marine Special Operations Command as a Marine Raider.

1:01.0

I left that and navigated my transition, both gracefully and horribly all the same time and became a serial launch per newer and then 10 years later, you know, managing a bunch of really awesome businesses doing some really great things in the world.

1:17.0

And trying to change men's lives, man, one family at a time. That's what I do now. Absolutely. So your time in the Marines, you were with Force Recon before and then you were lucky someone would say to be there right at the beginning of the Marsox teams and something drew you to that assessment selection is a cross training.

1:35.0

You definitely didn't need to do it. You were already established in Force Recon. You could have just head down and pressed on. What was that impetus to get you onto those Marsox teams right in the beginning?

1:44.0

So for my generation, it was kind of interesting because I was with Second Force Reconissance and then they needed a bunch of E5s to go out to Okinawa and be assistant team leaders and team leaders. So I went out there for three years.

1:59.0

Well, the agreement was that I would come back to Second Force. And so when I did my after my time, but we had just we had just rolled up the flag of Second Force and became second.

2:11.0

Well, what is now a second Raider Battalion? And and and because of that, I came back, but it was now Marsox.

2:19.0

But they showed back up and they had just, I think I went through maybe the second selection class.

2:26.0

So we had just started selection and they were like, and I was a staff and CEO. And I just came back from being a Tunisaran and they're like, Nick, you got to go through selection.

2:35.0

And I'm like, what the fuck? Oh, perfect.

2:39.0

Yeah, welcome back. Thanks for doing us a favor now. Go get your dick kicked in.

2:43.0

Yeah. And you know, that was my initial reaction. My ego getting out getting the best of me, but as as most young men do that job, right?

2:55.0

But once I went through and I saw the process and once I went through and I saw who was getting selected and who was who was not getting selected and how they were running selection.

3:05.0

I was like, oh, wow, this is this is like a very, very good process. They have a really good product and they create a very good product.

3:14.0

So as a leader, I immediately got the buy in. I was like, okay, this is a, this is it's needed. There's a reason for it. And, and then we went from there. I actually codgered before I was one class right before I got out, but just an amazing, amazing process.

3:31.0

But yeah, I had to go through selection again and and very, very happy that I did on and hindsight.

3:38.0

What lessons did you learn? Like, so as you're going through selection, we all learned things about ourselves, right? Some of those things are highly uncomfortable.

3:45.0

What was kind of that first eye opening moment in your selection process where you're like, oh, no, this is this is going to take my full measure to get through this thing.

3:54.0

So I'll be 100% honest with you.
