Welcome to another episode of Contra Krugman. I'm Tom Woods with Bob Murphy. Bob, how are you doing this

week? I'm doing great, Tom, but I think I could do a little bit better if I had some more debt, you know?

Well, as a matter of fact, funny you should say that. That is the subject matter of the

column we're going to be looking at today. Krugman is talking about debt. This is not entirely

uncharted territory for him, but the thesis of the article that we're looking at today, which, as

Given that these are the early episodes of the show, we're taking some liberties and choosing

some of our favorite, you know, greatest hits of Krugman over the past few weeks.

In this column, he's arguing that debt is good. In fact, that is the name

of the column. Debt is good. And the general thesis of the article is that perhaps what the

governments of the world need right now and the economies of the world need is more government

debt. So that's the thesis that we're going to be dealing with and confronting.

He begins the column by quoting Rand Paul, who said on his Twitter account that he was

apparently talking about U.S. fiscal policy and arguing that it was irresponsible.
