Summary

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

To kick off our first show of 2016, we talk about the results of a 75-year study on — what else? — the key to finding lasting happiness in life. Doing this ONE thing in your life can not only make you happier but healthier and, as a result, more likely to live longer. It's like tapping your own personal Fountain of Youth everyday...and here's a hint: it has nothing to do with going to the gym!

Then, we take a question from a listener who's feeling torn — should she take a year off from work and travel, or is it too late for a little adventure?

Have any career or money questions to help you ensure a prosperous new year? We'd love to hear from you! Email us at brownambitionpodcast@gmail.com or join the BA Fam on Facebook and Twitter.

a little flake later. I had some spurts of reflection. I just, I did the same thing. I mean, I had a

1:01.1

quiet, well not a quiet new year's, but I had new years with friends. And then we,

1:06.1

so whenever our friends mom lives on this really nice little kind of cottage like house

1:12.1

on a lake in upstate New York and we all packed up and went up there for a weekend. And these are

1:17.3

some of these friends I've had since I was 18, so for a decade. So it's, I'm really happy because

1:22.6

it's like our one time, a couple of times a year we can all meet at this house and like hang out and

1:27.5

we didn't even leave the house at all. We just sat and we were like, coddled by this friend's mother

1:34.0

and we just played games and drank wine and watched like stupid TV and more games. It was kind of fun.

1:40.6

But I don't know how the hell I'm going to work tomorrow. Oh, that's nice. I mean, that's,

1:46.7

yeah, I took a three hour nap today when I got home and I'm like, this is not the mode.

1:50.4

I cannot be getting into the mode of taking three hour naps at 4 p.m. It cannot happen.

1:55.2

I was like, that sounds like my life. I'm a napaholic. Yeah.

2:00.4

Well, speaking of reflections, well, let me back up first up because you had a huge day today.

2:07.1

Yes. Which is why you sound depleted. Yes. I have no idea. I was so tired. I've been like up on

2:13.6

night, darn near like 24 hours and then just like napping in between time. So my body is like,
