Welcome to Plodcast episode 19.

It's hard to believe that we've had 18 of these in the past but here we are number 19. So I want to begin since we

since we're dealing with timely issues of the day from time to time. I want to begin

with some observations about Al Franken and the Gropers.

And actually that's a that sounds like a striking name for a band.

Al Franken and the G groppers. Well, something's going on here. Some

writers have called this the sexual harassment apocalypse.

There's been an absolute torrent of stories and allegations and accusations and accusations

and accusations coming out left, right, and center. and

it doesn't appear to be business as usual.

So some people might say, well, this is what's going on all the time.

This is the way it always is.

And for some reason, one person coming out

has given a bunch of other people the encouragement or the

permission to come out and and make the allegation make the accusation but there appears to me to be something

more significant in this. A friend suggested to me, his wife suggested to him, and I think that there's something to it. I think that we are

seeing the end of an era and we've moved away from the party and we are now having to pay the piper.

We've moved away from the dance and now is the reckoning.

Take the day, take as a marker the death of Hugh Hefner and consider how people have responded differently.
