We are coming over the weekend, I think it was sort of you lose track of days when during

the pandemic, when everything is your home, your kind of normal schedules and sense of work

time and home time is confused, but we just have the end, the real end and end of the

U.S. war in Afghanistan.

And with that, we can look back now, A, on almost 20 years of that mission war, we need

sort of a new vocabulary, what we call this, it's not, it hasn't been an occupation

of Afghanistan in a pretty long time, but kind of sort of an occupation, sort of a war,

but you know, war at certain times, not at others, I've noticed that in my writing about

it, I'll often call it a mission, which is, that's a gobbledy-gook kind of word that

I really don't really make any sense, but in any case, we can now look back on 20 years

of that war occupation mission, whatever you want to call it, and also the last two or

three weeks, which has obviously been very consequential, very loud, very ugly on many

levels in many places.

So we're going to look at that, we're also going to look at this, there's a new law in

Texas, which effectively outlaws abortion, it doesn't technically do it, but it basically

says you can't have an abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detectable, and a heartbeat

is detectable as soon as like six weeks, and that's within the window when most women

don't even know the pregnant, you know, not to state the obvious, especially for our

female listeners, but, you know, just the mechanics of monthly cycles, you generally

are not going to find out much sooner than that.
